SNAILS
Snails snails snails....My garden like a lot of other peoples gardens is overrun with snails, and I have given up the battle to control them. I like to watch and paint them instead. I particularly like their sense of direction and purpose, which is usually just to try to get back to the safe place me or the kids have plucked them from. Occasionally the kids and I have a snail hunt, and gather a bucket full for rehousing, just to save some of my plants. A bucket full of snails is a sight to see, and I still wonder where the snail I woke up to find in the middle of my long washing line was going. |
